  • What paper work do I need for my horse in order to show?
    1. AQHA registration paperwork
    2. Foundation Quarter Horse registration paperwork
    3. Negative coggins within 12 months of the current show

  • How do I register my horse with a Foundation Quarter Horse Registry?
    There are several Foundation Quarter Horse registries available to horse owners wishing to register their American Quarter Horses as Foundation Quarter Horses. Here are several links to Foundation Quarter Horse registries that we will accept Foundation Quarter Horse registrations from.
    1. Federation of Foundation Quarter Horses

  • Will MFQHA register or certify a horse as a Foundation Quarter Horse?
    MFQHA is not able to register or certify a horse as a Foundation Quarter Horse. However we will accept any legitimate set of foundation registration papers on your horse.


  • Can I show my if I do not have the necessary paperwork?
    MFQHA will allow a member to show a horse in pending status for any of the following conditions:
    1. Newly registered or rescently transfered AQHA horse registration -- If you have submitted your paperwork to AQHA but you have not your registration papers as of the show.
    2. Newly registered or rescently transfered Foundation Quarter Horse registration -- If you have submitted your paperwork to a Foundation Quarter Horse registry but you have not recived your registration papers back yet.
    3. All horses must posess a current negative coggins, regardless of registration status, in order to show.

Membership Requirements
  • What are the types of divisions available to members?
    1. Novice / Amateur & Youth
      • Novice classes are for members with little to no show experience. This division allows memers to compete against others with similar experience.
      • A novice can compete in this divison until they have achieved a total of 25 points at which the member will be moved up to the amateur divison for the remainder of the show season.
    2. Youth
    3. Amateur
    4. Open

  • Can I join MFQHA at a show?
    MFQHA does take memberships during all of our shows however, it does tend to get busy in the show office the day of a show and may take some additional time to complete your paperwork during a show.
